Comparison
Ettore vs Volta for quotes and order entry
Volta, from Milan, and Ettore do the same job: read the requests customers send, match them to the ERP, and prepare quotes and orders for a team to approve. If you are evaluating both, this is what each one does, with Volta’s side taken from its own website as checked on 2 November 2026 — including the rows where Volta is ahead.
Sample data
Where the two really differ.
Volta covers more of the back office
Triage, customer service, a knowledge base built from your documents, a public API: Volta’s scope is wider than Ettore’s. Ettore does quotes and orders, and the product questions around them. If you want one vendor for the whole commercial back office, that weighs for Volta.
Volta connects to more ERPs today
Volta’s site lists SAP, Sage, Oracle, Cegid and others. Ettore has one ERP connector in production, Odoo, and builds SAP Business One or Dynamics on request. If your ERP is on Volta’s list and not on ours, start with Volta.
Ettore is built around the quote
The hard lines in a distributor’s quote request are the ones written with another brand’s code, or with no code at all. Ettore maps them to your SKUs, applies that customer’s price list, shows the margin on every line, and handles several companies in one ERP, each with its own price lists and VAT.
Ask both what goes out without a click
Volta’s answer is a level per agent and, for quotes, a margin band. Ettore’s is: only the request types you chose, only clean matches, and a line it does not recognize is never marked Ready. Both are reasonable; what matters is that you know the answer before you switch anything on.
Side by side.
Volta’s column comes from voltasoftware.com and from the announcement by its Italian distributor, Esprinet, as checked on 2 November 2026. We have not used Volta. Where its site is silent we say so rather than guess. If a row is wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
| Volta | Ettore | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Agents for orders, quotes, triage, product information and customer service | Quotes and sales orders from customer requests, plus a product assistant for your own team |
| Where requests come from | Email (Outlook, Gmail), WhatsApp including voice messages, PDFs and scans, web forms | Outlook and Gmail, with PDFs, spreadsheets and images. WhatsApp only as messages your team forwards |
| ERPs | Lists SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, Sage, Cegid, Odoo, Divalto, IBM i, Oracle and Dolibarr, plus Salesforce | Odoo connected today, over its standard external API. SAP Business One and Microsoft Dynamics on request: we build the connector |
| What it reads from the ERP | Customers, products, price lists, stock, orders and quotes | Catalog, customers, each customer’s own price list, and stock read live |
| Codes the catalog does not know | Customer references matched to ERP codes; unknown ones are flagged, not guessed | Codes from other brands mapped to your SKUs; an unrecognized line is never marked Ready |
| What runs without a person | Three levels per agent: assisted, validated by exception, autonomous within limits you set. Quotes inside a margin band can go out on their own | A person approves by default. Autopilot only on request types you choose, and only on a clean match |
| What it writes to the ERP | Orders and quotes; every agent action logged, attributable and reversible | Draft quotes and orders, once approved. It cannot confirm, post, cancel or delete, and every change is recorded |
| Product questions | A product information agent that attaches datasheets and certificates, drawing on a knowledge base built from SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox and trusted websites | A product assistant for your own team, answering from your catalog, datasheets and live stock, with the sources shown |
| Security, as shown on the website | ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR and NIS2 badges; data stored in EU regions. We have not checked the certificates | No certification claimed. A dedicated DigitalOcean server per company; OpenAI and Anthropic models through their APIs, which may process data outside the EU |
| Time to go live | “Live on your requests in 14 days”, per its platform page | About a month, based on our first rollout |
| Pricing | Not published on its website | No figure published. Priced by requests handled, not by seat; you can turn it off anytime |
| Customers shown | 14 client logos and one named testimonial on its homepage | One named client in production: Aronlight, a lighting distributor in Portugal and Spain |
| Languages and markets | Website in English, French and Italian. Esprinet’s Innovexya announced exclusive distribution of the platform in June 2026 | Website in English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese; reads requests in all four |
Which one fits you.
Choose Volta if
- Your ERP is one Volta lists and Ettore does not connect today, such as Sage, Cegid, Divalto, IBM i, Oracle or Dolibarr
- Customers send orders straight to WhatsApp, voice messages included
- You want agents beyond quotes and orders: triage, customer service, claims and returns
- Your procurement asks for ISO 27001 or SOC 2: Volta shows both on its site, Ettore claims neither
- You would rather buy through an Italian IT distributor and its partner network
Choose Ettore if
- You run Odoo, or SAP Business One or Dynamics and want the connector built for your setup
- Quote requests with other brands’ codes and customer-specific price lists are the heavy part of the work
- You also sell in Spain or Portugal, where Ettore is already in production
- You want the pricing model stated up front: by requests handled, no seats, turn it off anytime
- You want to start with one mailbox and switch on ERP write-back only once your team trusts the drafts
Questions about the comparison.
Is Volta a good product?
From what its website shows, it is a serious one: more agents, more ERP connections and more client logos than Ettore has today. This page is about which fits your situation, not about which company is better.
Do both work with Odoo?
Yes. Volta lists Odoo among the systems it works with. Ettore’s Odoo connector is the one in production at Aronlight, over Odoo’s standard external API rather than anything version-specific.
Can either one send quotes without a person?
Both can, within limits you set. Volta describes three levels of autonomy per agent and quotes going out on their own inside a margin band. Ettore sends on its own only on Autopilot, for request types you choose and only on a clean match; by default a person approves everything. Aronlight runs with approval on every quote.
What does each one cost?
Neither publishes a price. Ettore is a monthly amount based on the number of requests handled, not per seat, and you can turn it off anytime. Volta’s website does not state its pricing model, so ask them directly.
Where do the Volta facts on this page come from?
From Volta’s own pages (home, agents, platform) and from Esprinet’s press release of 25 June 2026, read on 2 November 2026. We have not used Volta. If something has changed, tell us and we will update the page.
